Man, woman killed after crashing into tree off 710 Freeway in Lynwood

LYNWOOD >> A man and a woman were killed Monday morning when their vehicle drove off the 710 Freeway and struck a tree in Lynwood, authorities said.

The crash was reported at 4:42 a.m. off the northbound 710 Freeway just south of Imperial Highway, said California Highway Patrol Officer Stephan Brandt.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene, Brandt said. Firefighters were working to extricate the bodies from the vehicle.

An investigation was underway to determine the cause of the crash, he said.
