Edgar Miguel Espinoza, 18, of Downey, was arrested in San Diego Thursday in coection with the killing of Nick Cubas. Cubas, also of Downey, was found dead about 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 4 in the area of Willow Street and the San Gabriel River, according to the Long Beach Police Department, which has not released additional details. Police on Thursday arrested a 32-year-old Los Angeles man who allegedly tried to rob a pedestrian at gunpoint in Downey a day earlier. Police said the suspected robber had a handgun when he approached the victim in the 11000 block of Cecilia Street at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday and demanded the man hand over some property.
