Bernie Sanders expected to draw big crowd at LA's Wiltern Theater

Fresh off of wins in the Idaho and Utah caucuses, a rally in front of more than 10,000 people in San Diego and an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Beie Sanders is set to speak at the Wilte Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

The Vermont senator is holding to his pledge to fight for the Democratic presidential nomination against Hillary Clinton all the way until June 7 — when Califoians go to the polls to dish out the nation’s largest number of delegates — 475.

“These decisive victories in Idaho and Utah give me confidence that we will continue to win major victories in the coming contests,” Sanders said in a statement.

Sanders’ rally at the Wilte — which holds about 2,000 people — comes a day before Clinton visits the area for fundraisers in Los Angeles and Santa Monica.

The Clinton campaign — after it won in Arizona Tuesday before dropping Utah and Idaho to Sanders — sent out an email to supporters Wednesday moing letting them know Clinton is still seeking donations, despite the difficult math facing Sanders as he trails the former secretary of state 1,182 to 893.

“They showed us they’re nowhere close to giving up on this race,” Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook wrote. “If we get complacent — even for a moment — we could lose crucial delegates that we need to secure the nomination for Hillary.”

The Clinton campaign also began offering its supporters this week a chance to enter a contest to spend an evening with the former first lady, actor George Clooney and his wife Amal at an upcoming fundraiser in L.A. That drawing runs through the end of the month — but it doesn’t require a donation.

Her two fundraisers this week include a star-studded affair with hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, and musicians Estelle and Ben Harper.

Tickets for that event — at the Avalon nightclub — were $250, $500 and $1,000. The lowest-priced tickets were sold out, however.

With voters in Washington, Alaska and Hawaii set to go to the polls Saturday, experts believe Sanders must win by large margins in states that give out delegates proportionally and win outright in wier-take-all states to keep Clinton from reaching the 2,382 delegate total needed to secure the nomination at the party’s convention in Philadelphia.

But Clinton leads Sanders in the race for superdelegates who aren’t bound to vote at the convention based on state results. According to Real Clear Politics, Clinton has nabbed 467 superdelegates to Sanders 26. If those are added to her delegate haul, Clinton has 1,649 to Sanders 919.
