Long Beach police are reminding area youth – many of whom are on spring break this week – that laws goveing curfew, underage drinking and other safety measures will be strictly enforced.
Youth under 18 are not allowed to be in any “public place” between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
“Our experience has shown us that youth who are on the street after curfew are more likely to become victims of violent crime and are more likely to become involved in criminal behavior,” police said in a statement.
Underage youth found to be consuming alcohol will be cited or arrested, and any person found to be contributing to the delinquency of a minor will also be appropriately cited or arrested, police said.
Officials also remind the public to practice home safety, and protect valuables in their homes and while walking on the streets.
