Lakewood is getting its first Farmer's Market next month

LAKEWOOD >> Lakewood’s first farmer’s market is scheduled to open next month.

A kick-off party will take place April 30 from 8 a.m. to noon at Lakewood Center and across from El Torito, 5242 Lakewood Blvd. The event also will feature live entertainment and giveaways.

The farmers’ market will continue every Saturday thereafter at the same time.

Some of the Los Angeles venders expected at the farmers market are Tamai Farms, Ha’s Apple Farm, West Coast Seafood, and Don Pelis Apiaries. Local products from The Lady Farmer, Jake’s Coffee, Ridiculous Baking Company and Bella Vado Avocado Oil also will be on site.

The food shopping event is a collaboration between Lakewood Center and So Cal Farmers’ Markets.
