
NEEDLES >> San Beardino County firefighters are helping Arizona authorities battle a 125-acre brush fire Wednesday moing that led to the mandatory evacuation of Park Moabi residents and campers in the area, according to authorities.

The fire, which is being called the Pirate Incident, was first reported around 5:30 a.m., according to a San Beardino County Sheriff’s statement.
According to fire officials, the fire started in Arizona, but winds pushed the flames across the state line into Califoia.
The fire has bued about 125 acres, 50 of that in San Beardino County, according to fire officials. Firefighters have no containment at this time.
Deputies from the Needles/Colorado River station along with fire persoel were called to Park Moabi for the fire.
Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for residents of Park Moabi as well as campers in the area.
An emergency evacuation center has been established at the Needles Park and Recreations located at 1111 Bailey Avenue.
A road closure is in effect at the 40 Freeway and Park Moabi Road.
San Beardino County strike teams, air rescue 06, hand crews and a dozer have responded to the incident.
