Police investigating North Long Beach shooting

Police are investigating a non life-threatening shooting in North Long Beach this moing.

Officers responded around 9:16 a.m. to calls of a person on the ground, possibly suffering gunshot wounds in the 300 block of Marker Lane, said Marlene Arrona, a police spokeswoman, in an email. On arrival, they found an adult man who had been shot in the torso.

Long Beach Fire Department persoel transported the man to a hospital with an apparent non life-threatening injury, Arrona said. Police believe the shooting happened a few blocks away near E. Artesia Boulevard and Butler Avenue.

The investigation is ongoing.
