Los Angeles Fire Department divers on a boat reached the man at the base of the 100-foot cliff in the 800 block of Paseo del Mar shortly after noon. He was not moving.
The man was hoisted to a LAFD helicopter and taken to a hospital.
Police said it was not immediately clear that that man jumped, but people nearby heard the noise and saw the man at the bottom of the cliff.
