Long Beach firefighters extinguish apartment fire in Los Altos

Long Beach firefighters extinguished a fire in the Los Altos neighborhood Friday moing.

Units were dispatched to a call of a structure fire in the 2200 block of San Anseline Avenue at 8:49 a.m. and arrived on scene four minutes later, said Jake Heflin, a department spokesman. At the scene, firefighters encountered a “garden-style apartment complex” with light smoke showing from the rear unit.

The fire was knocked down by 8:58 a.m., Heflin said. The unit was not occupied.
