O.C. man who coached in Long Beach arrested for lewd conduct

An Orange County man who coached at Cal State Long Beach and Long Beach City College was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of taking and sending lewd videos of himself to a minor.

Troy Linehan Crutchfield, 26, of Costa Mesa, was arrested by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Detail, which began its investigation in March. Police believe there may be other victims, and released a list of places where Crutchfield worked or volunteered as a volleyball coach, including the Long Beach colleges, as well as SCA Club Volleyball in Huntington Beach and Huntington Beach High School. He was most recently providing private volleyball lessons.

The investigation began when a girl reported having inappropriate conversations with a man online. Investigators searched Crutchfield’s home, and he was later arrested and transported to Orange County Jail.

He is being held on $100,000 bail.
