For some people, the second day of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has the potential to be the best day as the reunion of legendary hard rock group Guns N’ Roses tops the bill.
The Los Angeles rockers, set to feature the reunion of singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagen, are known for songs like “Welcome To The Jungle” and “Sweet Child o’ Mine.” They go on at 10:30 p.m. on the main Coachella stage.
Also set to potentially steal the show is hip-hop artist Ice Cube. There have been strong rumors, hopes and wishes of an N.W.A reunion featuring the remaining members MC Ren, DJ Yella and Dr. Dre (as Eazy-E died in 1995 from complications of AIDS). Cube is scheduled to go on at 9:05 p.m. on the Coachella stage.
The Arcs, which features the Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach (who founded them), are scheduled for a 6:55 p.m. start time inside the Mojave tent. They released the garage rock album “Yours, Dreamily” in September 2015.
Courtney Baett has received a lot of positive and critical attention for her March 2015 album “Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit.” The album made many music sites best of lists last year. She’s scheduled to go on stage at 6:45 p.m. on the Outdoor Theatre.
Long Beach’s Vince Staples, who released a critical favorite album of his own last year, is set for a 7:55 p.m. time in the Sahara Tent. His album, “Summertime ‘06,” was a double album that like Baett was in many critics’ top 10 lists.
