Atlanta hip-hop artist T.I. was the surprise guest of Anderson .Paak & the Free Nationals’ Sunday night set and did not disappoint as he confidently rapped his hits at the Coachella festival.

T.I., who also aounced April 22 as the date of an upcoming project “Bankroll Mafia,” performed “Bring Em Out” and “About The Money” without Young Thug who is also featured on the track. Audience members instantly started cheering when T.I. came out wearing a black Chicago White Sox hat and Run-DMC shirt and jeans.

Before and after T.I., however, Anderson .Paak displayed the singing and drumming skills he is known for. Paak was a breakout star on Dre’s most recent album “Compton” performing on six of the albums sixteen songs.

Sound issues plagued .Paak & the Free Nationals’ set early as a microphone wasn’t working properly and a member of the sound crew ran on stage and gave him another one. Eventually, the issues got more or less worked out.

The set featured two guitarists, a keyboardist and two female vocalists and the material mostly consisted of songs from albums like “Malibu” and “Venice.”

Songs included “The Season/Carry Me,” “Parking Lot,” “Heart Don’t Stand a Chance” and “Room In Here.”

His stage presence raised the quality of the set as Paak danced, ran to the drum kit and played drums. And after performing his last song, “Am I Wrong,” Paak said he would see the Coachella audience during weekend two.
