LONG BEACH — Authorities have identified a young man who was killed in a Central Long Beach shooting that left three others hospitalized Monday.

The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Delhaun Jackson, said Ed Winter, assistant chief at the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:42 p.m.

The shooting in the 1200 block of East 17th Street left three others hospitalized — two in serious condition and one critically wounded, police said.

The shooter remains at large.

“The men were shot on the street,” said Long Beach Lt. Paul Baum this moing. “We don’t know what happened or if it was gang-related at this point.”

A woman who identified herself as Jackson’s grandmother told reporters her grandson was survived by his 1-year-old daughter, according to media reports.

Another of the victims was in very critical condition, and the other two were in serious but stable condition this moing, according to Baum.

Baum also said homicide detectives were at the scene early today. But police did not immediately develop information on a suspect or a motive. However, they were collecting video from around the scene in the hope it will show the attack.
