
North Long Beach residents living in the city’s 9th Council District, along with others having interests in the area, can propose ideas for spending $250,000 in discretionary city funds via Participatory Budgeting.
Long Beach Councilman Rex Richardson’s office aounced plans to convene a May 7 meeting to begin this year’s round of Participatory Budgeting, which is a process through which constituents can have a say in how $250,000 worth of discretionary spending should be spent, according to the councilman’s office.
The meeting is set to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 7 at Houghton Park Community Center, 6301 Myrtle Ave.
District 9 residents and stakeholders aged 14 and older can vote online on 9th District spending plans begiing May 7 through May 14 at www.pblongbeach.org.
Voting is also scheduled to take place from noon to 7 p.m. May 9 through 12 at Richardson’s field office at 6509 Gundry Ave.; from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 13 at the Movie in the Park and Vote event at Ramona Park, 3301 E. 65th St. and from 9 a.m. to noon May at the councilman’s field office.
