COMPTON — A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash this moing involving four vehicles on the Long Beach (710) Freeway in Compton, the Califoia Highway Patrol reported.

The collision on the northbound 710 Freeway took place at Rosecrans Avenue about 12:35 a.m., said CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos.

“The crash involved four vehicles,” Villalobos said after the accident. “The victim was a 24-year-old man on a motorcycle.”

No other injuries were immediately reported. The deceased man’s name was withheld pending family notification.

All northbound lanes on the 710 Freeway were shut down at Rosecrans Avenue, and a SigAlert was issued by the CHP at 12:54 a.m. The CHP reopened the No. 1, 2, and 3 lanes at 5:30 a.m. The other lanes remained closed for the death investigation and cleanup of debris, according to Villalobos.

There was no estimate on how long the remaining northbound lanes of the 710 would remain closed. The crash was under investigation by the CHP.
