A man is in custody after barricading himself for several hours in a Zaferia apartment complex and prompting Long Beach Police Department SWAT response.
Police were dispatched around 7:54 a.m. Tuesday to an apartment in the 1700 block of Coronado Avenue to a possible burglary at the location.

Officers leaed of a resident’s ex-boyfriend who was unwelcome in the apartment and is wanted for parole violation, said Sgt. Bradley Johnson, a police spokesman, in an email. Officers believed the man was inside and ordered him out, but no one responded to their commands.
The SWAT team was then sent out in response to a possible barricaded suspect situation.
The man surrendered without incident to police around 12:30 p.m.
