A Rose Park resident was arrested for allegedly carrying out numerous commercial robberies in Long Beach.

Timothy Clarke, 63, was arrested at his residence in the 1300 block of Dawson Avenue Monday by police who also executed a search warrant and recovered evidence related to the case, police said.

The Los Angeles County District Attoey’s Office Wednesday filed 10 counts of robbery, three counts of attempted robbery and one count of assault with a deadly weapon against Clarke, police said. His bail was set $1.6 million and he is currently being held at the Long Beach City Jail.

He is scheduled to be arraigned this afteoon in Long Beach Superior Court.

The robberies

Between Feb. 12 and April 23, police said Clarke robbed multiple commercial businesses in the police department’s West and East Patrol Division areas.

Police said Clarke armed himself with some type of sharp instrument, approached unsuspecting employees and demanded money.

Robbery detectives were advised of a possible suspect by a patrol officer who recognized the suspect from an inteal crime bulletin, police said. Detectives compared video surveillance images from the businesses that were robbed and were able to associate Clarke to the multiple commercial robberies.
