Detectives investigate death of child in Long Beach

LONG BEACH — Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a child in Long Beach, the department aounced today.

Detectives responded to the 2500 block of East Jackson Street just before midnight Wednesday, according to Deputy Kelvin Moody.

The child was pronounced dead at a hospital. There was no immediate word on the child’s age or gender, or the cause of death.
