NEWPORT BEACH - A 51-year-old man who fell from the cliffs at Corona Del Mar State Beach in Newport Beach was identified today by the Orange County coroner’s office.
David Kirkendall of Lakewood fell from the cliffs just about 4:25 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the coroner’s office.
Kirkendall was transported to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, where he died about an hour later, according to the coroner’s office.
The death was being investigated by the Newport Beach police.
