Long Beach police investigating shooting outside Wrigley District bar

Long Beach police are investigating a shooting outside a small Wrigley District bar late Thursday night.

No one was hit or injured as a result of the shooting, which happened around 10:50 p.m. in the 300 block of W. Willow Street, said Sgt. Bradley Johnson, a police spokesman, in an email. One caller told dispatchers the shots were coming from the parking lot of a local business.

A post to the Long Beach, Calif. Facebook page identified the business as The 710 Bar, which is located in the 300 block of W. Willow.

Upon arrival, officers tried to detain subjects in the parking lot but they walked inside the business, Johnson said. Police eventually detained 17 people as they conducted their investigation.

A bystander captured part of the incident on a video later uploaded to Youtube. It shows police with guns drawn ordering people to exit the bar. A bright spotlight shines on a door to the establishment. At least five people come outside with their hands up.

Evidence of a shooting was recovered, police said.

No one was injured or arrested. The investigation continues.
