A man was injured but is expected to survive after he was shot in Long Beach’s MacArthur Park neighborhood Thursday night.
Officers were dispatched to the shooting at 7:15 p.m. near 14th Street and Walnut Avenue, said Sgt. Bradley Johnson, a police spokesman, in an email. At the scene, they found an adult man who had been shot in the lower torso. His injuries are considered non life-threatening.
Long Beach Fire Department persoel transported the man to a hospital, Johnson said.
The shooting is being investigated as possibly gang-related.
