A 35-year-old man was fatally struck by a car as he walked along a 405 Freeway off-ramp in the Carson, the Califoia Highway Patrol reported Friday.
The man was hit on the Avalon Boulevard off-ramp from the northbound 405 Freeway about 11:45 p.m. Thursday, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said.
The victim died at the scene, Kimball said. His name was withheld pending family notification. The driver, who stopped at the scene and contacted the CHP, cooperated with authorities and was not cited or arrested.
The crash temporarily shut down the Avalon Boulevard off-ramp from the northbound 405 Freeway, Kimball said. The off-ramp was cleared and reopened at 2:10 a.m. Friday.
