Long Beach police investigating fatal shooting near Ramona Park

Police are investigating a fatal shooting Tuesday night near Ramona Park in North Long Beach.

Officers responded to a shooting call around 6:50 p.m. in the 3300 block of E. 65th Street, said Lt. Kerry Giesige, a watch commander with the Long Beach Police Department. At the scene, police found a 16-year-old male suffering a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

Long Beach Fire Department persoel responded and pronounced the teen dead at the scene, Giesige said.

It is not known whether the shooting is gang related, he said.
