Porter Ranch gas leak costs $665 million, says Sempra

LOS ANGELES — Sempra Energy said today its latest estimate of the costs incurred by its SoCalGas subsidiary as a result of the Aliso Canyon gas leak is $665 million dollars.

“Concurrently, the company has recorded an insurance receivable of $660 million,” the company said in a statement reporting its first-quarter eaings, adding that the gas leak-related expenditures are not a factor in those eaings.
