LOS ANGELES — Authorities today urged possible victims of a “prolific” identity theft suspect to contact them.

The suspect, whose name was not immediately released, was arrested by persoel from the Southe Califoia High Tech Task Force on April 28 at a hotel in Santa Barbara County, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department reported.

“Losses to date, appear to be in the range of $250,000, but they are suspected to be much greater when all victims are located and identified,” a sheriff’s statement said.

A news conference was plaed later this moing to reveal other details of the investigation.

The Southe Califoia High Tech Task Force is run by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and includes persoel from the Los Angeles Police Department, the FBI, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and Los Angeles County District Attoey’s Office.
