Long Beach police are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting late Saturday afteoon in the South Wrigley neighborhood.
The shooting happened at 4:56 p.m. near the intersection of 21st Street and Locust Avenue, said Sgt. Megan Zabel, a police spokeswoman.
One suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured.

Toni-Lee Swenson, a neighborhood resident, said she saw the shooting from Long Beach Boulevard and 21st Street.
About seven officers appeared to be shooting at a red SUV stopped in a driveway, Swenson said.
“I saw the smoke go off after the second volley,” she said.
