LONG BEACH >> A man died Saturday night after he was hit by a vehicle in Long Beach, authorities said.
The crash happened at 8:27 p.m. at Cherry Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach police Lt. Evan Coy said.
The victim -- whose name was being withheld -- was pronounced dead at the scene, Coy said.
The driver remained at the scene.
Cherry Avenue was closed between Pacific Coast Highway and Hill Street for the investigation.
