Long Beach man charged with murder in Traffic Circle stabbing

A 33-year-old Long Beach man has been charged with murder for his alleged coection to a fatal stabbing in early December in the Traffic Circle area.

Justin Michael St. George was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Long Beach Superior Court but proceedings were rescheduled for March 1 so he could be represented by a public defender.

St. George is being held at Long Beach City Jail on $1.04 million bail, police said.

Police were dispatched around 10:40 a.m. Dec. 6 to a parking lot in the 1700 block of Ximeno Avenue, where officers found a the body of an adult man inside a motor home.

The victim, 62-year-old Gary Rice, was stabbed in the upper body, police said.

St. George was arrested Feb. 10 in Cypress, police said. Homicide detectives presented their case to the Los Angeles District Attoey’s Office, and he was formally charged with one count of murder Tuesday.

The investigation is ongoing.
