A Wrigley-area pizza place was ordered to close earlier this month for lack of hot water and other problems, according to an inspection report from the Long Beach Health Department.
Papa John’s Pizza at 141 E. Willow St. was shut down May 5 and allowed to reopen the same day.
Inspectors observed no hot water available at hand washing stations (required to be at a minimum of 100 degrees), dish washing station (required to be at minimum 110 degrees) and sinks (120 degree minimum required).
Inspectors also noted that foods kept in a reach-in freezer were not cold enough; they are required to be kept at an inteal temperature of 41 degrees or cooler.
And the restaurant was also dinged for storing cleaning chemicals on a drain board of a hand washing sink.
The restaurant fixed the problems and was allowed to reopen about four hours after the inspection.
