ET is home! Well...almost.
ET-94, the giant orange exteal fuel tank made to propel space shuttles out of the atmosphere, is actually sitting in Marina del Rey as crew wait until Saturday to begin a 12-mile drive to the Califoia Science Center.
Public works officials are pulling out all the stops for ET’s trip...no, really, they may have to move traffic signals and stop signs out of the way. Utilities workers are also set to move power lines so ET doesn’t accidentally take them down.
In addition, thousands of people are expected to stop by and cheer on the drivers and many volunteers who will walk alongside the tank like the white suit-ers at the Rose Parade.
We’ll be among the hoards watching in awe as the 33 ton, 15 story high orange tank rolls down the LA streets on it’s way to meet it’s mate, the Space Shuttle Endeavor, near downtown.
Of course, we’ll be putting the whole thing on our ladailynews Snapchat account. So, if you can’t make it to Inglewood to see the tank, or if you just like our fuy yet informative commentary, follow us on Snapchat.
