Woman found dead inside Long Beach apartment; homicide suspected

A woman was found dead Saturday afteoon inside a Long Beach apartment and police were investigating the death as a homicide, authorities said.

The discovery was made at about 12:50 p.m. when Long Beach police officers were called to assist Long Beach firefighters checking on a woman reported deceased in an apartment in the 1100 block of Locust Avenue, Marlene Arrona of the Long Beach Police Department said.

Homicide detectives were at the scene, Arrona said.
