LONG BEACH – Authorities today identified a motorcyclist who was fatally injured when struck by two vehicles on the northbound 710 Freeway.

The crash was reported about 9:30 p.m. Sunday at Del Amo Boulevard, Califoia Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos said. Joseph Krall, 28, of Long Beach died at the scene, coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter said.

Investigators leaed that Krall’s 1990 Suzuki Intruder became disabled in the No. 2 lane of the northbound freeway south of Del Amo Boulevard. A 2010 Nissan Altima driven by an 18-year-old Downey resident and a 2015 Scion driven by a 24-year-old Van Nuys resident could not avoid crashing into the disabled motorcyclist, authorities said.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the accident, authorities said.

The northbound Long Beach Freeway was shut down at Del Amo Boulevard and the onramp from eastbound Del Amo Boulevard to the northbound Long Beach Freeway was closed for the investigation, he said. The ramp and roadway were reopened at 12:54 a.m.
