Long Beach arrest man who fled traffic stop in South Wrigley area, led officers on search

Long Beach police arrested a man who led officers on a nearly two hour search after fleeing a traffic stop late Tuesday moing.

Officers attempted to pull over the vehicle the man was driving around 11:30 a.m. near Long Beach Boulevard and 20th Street, said Sgt. Bradley Johnson, a police spokesman. The man, who has a warrant out for his arrest, fled on foot.

The man was taken into custody around 1 p.m., said Marlene Arrona, a police spokeswoman. The man’s name and further information about the warrant were not available as of 3:30 p.m.
