The ground stop began at about 8 a.m., and by 8:30 a.m., departures had resumed, said LAX spokeswoman Nancy Suey Castles in a statement. The problem has since been resolved, officials said.
“Flights are expected to be delayed this moing until airlines catch up with their schedules,” Suey Castles said. “Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for flight status.”
Delays initially were expected to last up to 45 minutes but as of 11 a.m. had been reduced to 15 to 29 minutes said Charles Paunzio, an LAX spokesman.
