Yucaipa resident Robert Christian Adams, 40, died within minutes of suffering gunshot wounds to his chest and abdomen, a coroner’s report of his autopsy stated.
The report puts his time of death as 12:04 p.m. on Dec. 2 in the auditorium of the Inland Regional Center. Adams, who was found 35 feet away from the north door of the room, was among nine people found dead inside the conference room, according to a coroner’s report.
Adams, an environmental health specialist, was found lying on his back with his county public health identification card still clipped to the front belt he was wearing around his pants.
The coroner’s report describes gunshot wounds to his left upper back, his right shoulder and left thigh.
Adams also sustained multiple abrasions with red marks between 1/8th of an inch to a 1/4th of an inch found on the left side of his head, his neck, his mid-back and left knee.
His autopsy was conducted on Dec. 6.
Adams is survived by his wife of 14 years, Summer, and their two-year-old daughter, Savaah.
At his memorial service, his wife described him as a jovial person whose greatest strength was making people feel comfortable and loved.
