Robbers come for marijuana-dispensary cash, get bullet wounds instead

WALNUT PARK — The owner of a Walnut Park marijuana dispensary shot and wounded two men as they attempted an armed robbery at the establishment, authorities said today.

The would-be robbers were hospitalized following the incident, which took place at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Lt. Thomas Giandomenico of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department’s Century station.

At least one of the robbers was armed, according to a sergeant at the station who would allow only her last name — Kepley — to be used.

The incident occurred in the 2400 block of East Florence Avenue in unincorporated Walnut Park south of Huntington Park. An investigation into the shooting is underway, Giandomenico said.
