Things to do in Long Beach this weekend: Coins, jazz and art

Long Beach Coin, Stamp, And Collectibles Expo: The expo begins Thursday and ends Saturday at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center, 300 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach.

5th Aual Uptown Jazz Festival: Long Beach Councilman Rex Richardson is hosting the event, featuring Goapele, DW3, Boxcar 7, Sit Down, Servant!! and Brownsuede. The event is noon to 8 p.m. Saturday at Houghton Park. Music, food, vendor booths, a Kids Zone and more.

Come to the teen volunteer orientation at the Los Alamitos-Rossmoor Library and sign up session for summer volunteering. Orientation is at 9 a.m. Saturday and June 18. Volunteer hours start June 20 and run until July 31. Pick up your applications now at the library or email [email protected] for the form.

Sounds & Spaces at Rainbow Harbor: Long Beach Symphony presents this family concert complete with Instrument Petting Zoo. Joined by radio personality Kimberlea Daggy as narrator, the Long Beach Symphony Chamber Players bring you Delvyn Case’s piece “Lighthouse Keeper: The Story of Abbey Burgess.” Concert is 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Rainbow Harbor, 330 S. Pine Ave.

Pizza Pig Out: A dozen pizzerias across Long Beach will vie for the crown of Best Pizza at the 7th aual event from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Holy Iocents School, 2500 Pacific Ave. The event is hosted by the Wrigley Association and the Long Beach Neighborhood Foundation. Admission is $5 and includes one vote.

MOLAA 20th Aiversary: Experience the vibrant sounds of Latin American music, under the stars, in the Museum of Latin American Art’s beautiful sculpture garden. In addition to music, En La Noche offers a casual festival-like ambiance with vendors, a cash bar, cuisine from food trucks and access to the galleries to view the Museum’s 20th Aiversary exhibition, MOLAA at Twenty: 1996 – 2016. Event is 7-10 p.m. Saturday.

East Village Walking Tour: This walking tour will take people along the earliest residential high rises catering to elegant resort living built after World War I. Start at 10 a.m. Saturday at the coer of Ocean Boulevard and Linden Avenue in front of Modica’s Deli. Cost is $10 per adult. Info: 562-493-7019.
