The 710 Freeway in Long Beach will be closed this weekend for maintenance

Scheduled street maintenance early Sunday will close the southe end of the 710 Freeway in Long Beach.

As crews complete an aual maintenance project, the southe end of the freeway will be closed south of Anaheim Street from 3 a.m. to noon, city officials said.

Signs will inform motorist of detours, and the following ramps will be closed:

• Southbound 710 downtown offramps that access Sixth Street, Broadway and Golden Avenue exits

• Northbound 710 onramps from Shoreline Drive, Ocean Boulevard, Third Street and Seventh Street

Officials said Harbor Scenic Drive will not affected by the closure.

The project on Sunday will focus on street repairs, traffic signs and lights, pavement markings, tree trimming, graffiti removal, landscape maintenance and improvements, guard rail maintenance and street sweeping.
