Motorcyclist killed in Long Beach crash near Heartwell Park

LONG BEACH >> A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with another vehicle shortly after midnight Saturday along the Lakewood-Long Beach border near Heartwell Park.

Officers were called to an injury traffic accident at 12:01 a.m. near the intersection of Carson Street and San Anseline Avenue, said Detective Claudia Lopez, a Long Beach police spokeswoman, in an email. The motorcyclist, an adult man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other vehicle’s driver, an adult woman, was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
