Shanghai Disneyland: More than 80 first-look photos from China's new theme park

Shanghai Disneyland is ready for a spectacular opening on June 16.

We’re in China to cover the opening of Shanghai Disneyland, and got a tour of the gigantic park on Monday, when all the shops were open and the rides were operating with no guests.

Jaw-dropping moments: The first glimpse of the florescent blue interiors of the TRON Lightcycle Power Run, seeing the vaulted ceiling and chandelier inside the Enchanted Storybook Castle, walking through the open chests full of gold and jewels in the town of Tortuga leading toward the Pirates of the Caribbean -- Battle for the Sunken Treasure ride.

We got the first look at sets of trading pins and memorabilia commemorating the grand opening, and it is all expected to be hot among collectors. Most interesting one: The Garden of the 12 Friends, which features all the animals on the Chinese zodiac calendar. The meshing of Disney and Chinese culture in this setting is fascinating.
