Man shot to death on Compton's South Cairn Avenue

COMPTON – A man was shot to death on a street in Compton, the sheriff’s department reported today.

The attack took place in the 14500 block of South Cai Avenue about 11 p.m. Thursday, said Deputy Trina Schrader.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Schrader said. His name was withheld pending family notification.

The motive for the shooting was not known, and no information was available on the shooter. Anyone with information on the slaying was urged to call the sheriff’s homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500.
