A crash in North Long Beach has closed East Artesia Boulevard between Butler Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard.
The accident happened at 6:48 a.m. at Artesia and Butler, according to Pulse Point, a smartphone application that broadcasts information about Fire Department calls.
A vehicle hit a pedestrian, who was taken to a hospital in serious condition, said Nancy Pratt, a police spokeswoman, in an email. The driver remained at the scene and an investigation is ongoing.
