A crash in North Long Beach closed East Artesia Boulevard between Butler Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard for several hours Friday.
The accident happened at 6:48 a.m. at Artesia and Butler, according to Pulse Point, a smartphone application that broadcasts information about fire department calls.
A vehicle driven by a woman hit a man who was crossing Artesia on foot when the driver tried to make a left tu eastbound on Artesia, said Nancy Pratt, a police spokeswoman, in an email. The man was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
The driver stayed at the scene, Pratt said. She was not cited Friday moing but the investigation is ongoing.
The roadway was reopened as of 1:07 p.m.
