A Long Beach man and woman killed by a suspected drunken driver in Lakewood Tuesday night were a longtime couple plaing to get married in October, friends and family said.

The victims, 30-year-old Brian Urquia and 28-year-old Rosaa Williams, were identified Friday by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. A GoFundMe page set up by Abel Urquia, Brian’s father, has raised $11,890 of its $10,000 goal as of 4 p.m. Friday.

All funds raised will be used to provide for funeral services to be held at All Souls Mortuary in Long Beach, Abel Urquia wrote on the fundraiser page. The date for funeral services remains to be determined.

In the two days since the fundraiser started, 155 people donated, many expressing their shock and grief at the couple’s death in written Idea.

The crash at the intersection of Paramount and Del Amo boulevards was reported at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Sgt. J. Jobling of the sheriff’s Lakewood Station.

Two compact cars were involved in the crash, which Lakewood Station Sgt. Steve Moses described as “head on.” Urquia and Williams were the occupants of one of the vehicles.

The surviving person is the suspected drunken driver. Sheriffs had not released the driver’s name as of Friday afteoon. Information on the charges the driver faces were not available.
