
Authorities Monday identified a woman killed early Sunday moing in Long Beach after a driver struck the woman twice and fled the scene.
The victim was killed at 12:46 a.m. at Anaheim Street near Ohio Avenue when a beige or white Ford Expedition struck her, then reversed and made a right near Ohio, and struck the woman again before fleeing. A second vehicle, a 2006 Cadillace driven by a 49-year-old man, then hit the woman – but he stayed at the scene, police said.
The Los Angeles County Coroner on Monday identified the woman as Maria Sierra, 55. Her city of residences was not known.
Sierra was crossing Anaheim south from the northeast curb of Ohio Avenue in an unmarked crosswalk, police said Sunday.
Long Beach police detectives asked anyone with any information regarding the death to call them at 562-570-5273.
