Long Beach police searching for suspect near Orizaba Park, streets closed to traffic

Long Beach police officers have closed off access to several streets near Orizaba Park in the city’s Zaferia area while searching for man wanted on suspicion of an assault with a deadly weapon.

Officers have set up a perimeter bounded by 16th Street to the north, Orizaba Avenue to the west, 14th Street to the south and Temple Avenue to the west.

The police department is advising anyone plaing on driving through that area to plan an alteative route.
