The Lifeguard Division of the Los Angeles County Fire Department posted this photo on their Twitter page of a dead humpback whale at Dockweiler State Beach on Thursday, June 30, 2016. PLAYA DEL REY >> A dead humpback whale washed ashore at Dockweiler State Beach Thursday night.
The carcass came ashore about 8 p.m., according to the Lifeguard Division of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The dead whale will remain on the shoreline oveight and the curious public was waed to view it from behind yellow police tape placed around it.
