Police are investigating a shooting near Martin Luther King, Jr. Park in Central Long Beach Monday evening.
Officers responded to a shots call at 6:02 p.m. in the 1900 block of Lemon Avenue, said Officer Claudia Lopez, a police spokeswoman. Evidence of a shooting was located but no victim was present at the scene.
During their investigation, officers leaed that a woman checked into a local hospital who appeared to be suffering from a non life-threatening gunshot wound, Lopez said.
The investigation is ongoing.
