LAX terminal evacuated after bomb threat, 1 arrested

By City News Service, A man was arrested Friday for allegedly making a bomb threat that prompted the evacuation of Terminal 2 at Los Angeles Inteationa

The incident began about 2:15 p.m., according to Officer Alicia Heandez of the Airport police spokeswoman. “He made a verbal bomb threat statement,’’ she said.

Airport police evacuated the lower level of the terminal, and lower-level traffic entering the Central Terminal Area was rerouted to the departures, or upper level.

A Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad was called in and determined there was no danger. The all-clear was given about 3:15 p.m.

The man taken into custody, whose name was not immediately released, was expected to be booked on suspicion of making a false bomb threat, Heandez said.
