The Sand fire continued to rage on Monday as firefighters remained conceed that the blaze, which began Friday in Santa Clarita, would spread east toward Acton. Here’s a breakdown of what’s going on today:

• ACRES BURNED: 33,117

• CONTAINMENT: 10 Percent

• STRUCTURES LOST: 18

• DEATH: 1 (Still under investigation)

• EVACUATIONS: 10,000 homes — about 20,000 residents (evacuations were lifted for many homeowners as of 7 p.m., with a few exceptions).

• EVACUATIONS REMAINING IN EFFECT:

- Homes off Placerita Canyon Road from Ruing Horse Lane to Pacy Street

- Residences located along Little Tujunga Canyon Road starting from where Sand Canyon Road meets Placerita Canyon Road south to the Wildlife Waystation

- Homes along Agua Dulce Canyon Road from 1/4 mile south of the 14 Freeway to Soledad Canyon Road and on Soledad Canyon Road one mile from Agua Dulce Road in both directions

• EVACUATION CENTERS:

- Highland High School, 39055 25th St W, Palmdale, CA 93551

- Hart High School, 24825 Newhall Ave, Santa Clarita, CA 91321

- Lake View Terrace Recreation Center, 11075 Foothill Blvd., Los Angeles

ROAD CLOSURES: Several road closures are in effect in the Placerita Canyon corridor and Sand Canyon corridor.

Placerita Canyon road is closed at the 14 Freeway to Sand Canyon Road. Sand Canyon Road is closed east of the 14 Freeway to where it becomes Little Tujunga Canyon Road. Little Tujunga Canyon Road is closed at Osboe Street in the San Feando Valley, Pack said.

SCHOOL: All remaining summer school classes at Golden Valley High School in Santa Clarita will be moved to La Mesa Junior High begiing Tuesday moing.
